When It Rains in Hawaii …
… it really rains!
This photo of a serious rain squall about 10 minutes away from landfall was taken the other day on Oahu’s north coast by Ian Lind, former investigative reporter with Honolulu’s daily newspaper and now a semi-retired-but-prolific blogger.
Here on Maui, we have pretty much the same conditions. Typically, it will rain several times a day as these little squalls blow in with the northeast trade winds and pass over, dumping rain on us for a couple of minutes, then moving inland.
Keeps everything green.
Also keeps us replacing wood decks every 5-6 years!
