Meanwhile, In Canada . . .

. . . VIA Rail has announced the awarding of a $12.6 million (US) contract to refurbish four dining cars which are used on their marvelous transcontinental train, the Canadian.
 
According to the report in TRAINS magazine, the work to be performed by Rail GD will include new kitchens, new electronic and electrical components. The refurbished dining cars will all be in service by mid-2020.
 
Now . . . let’s all hold that thought until the next time we’re about to experience “contemporary dining” in a cardboard box on an Amtrak long-distance train.
