Do You Remember the Definition of Insanity?
in·san·ity (in san′ eh tē) : Doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.
A Timely Quote:
“Opening up the health insurance market to more vigorous nationwide competition, as we have done over the last decade in banking, would provide more choices of innovative products less burdened by the worst excesses of state-based regulation.”

(Emphasis added is mine. I couldn’t resist. I tried … God knows, I tried!)
For better or for worse, I’m a “mouthpiece” for me and only me.
Nobody’s saying there shouldn’t be more oversight. Of course, what about pressure coming from congress that banks weren’t making enough mortgage loans to minorities and low income borrowers? There was pressure to make bad loans.
I heard an interesting quote on a news report the other day. I wish I could remember where but it was discussing tightening credit and that “banks would only be permitted to loan money to those who could prove they could pay it back.” Hey… now there’s a concept.
Any way, I look forward to a return of this blog to a focus on rail travel and issues instead of a mouthpiece for the democratic party. What we saw on television was not a fair depiction of her.
It will be interesting to see if the rumors of Biden bowing out due to health reasons in early October come true. I can almost here Al Davis “Just win, baby!”
Jim, two things occur to me:
– What astonishing hypocrisy for a “conservative” administration that has always applauded the rightness of market forces to steer the economy.
– This bailout to “prevent financial collapse” is the product of the same administration that manipulated the intel six years ago to cry wolf about the presence of Saddam Hussein’s WMD in order to start a war.
No mas. I’ve already written my congressman and senators.
